The OEERC'S main objectives are:
- To establish and operate information services and supports to educate workers about their rights at work and to assist with resolving workplace problems
- To produce educational materials and other resources to educate workers about their rights under Canadian employment legislation
- To develop and deliver workshops, conferences and programs to educate workers, and other interested community allies, about workers’ rights and how to protect and enforce these rights
- To develop and conduct leadership training opportunities for workers to development their skills in teaching others about workers’ rights and how to protect and enforce these rights
- To assist workers with upholding their rights under employment legislation
- To conduct research into the violations of legislated rights at work and to communicate the results of this research to federal, provincial and local government agencies, community organizations and other interested individuals and groups
